Mitsubishi Split System Air Conditioning Installation

Getting the capacity right is the single biggest factor in how a split system performs and what it costs to run. We size against your actual room, taking into account floor area, insulation, glazing, ceiling height and which direction the room faces. As a rough guide, a 2.5kW unit suits a well insulated, shaded room of around 25 square metres, but the same unit only covers about 15 square metres in a poorly insulated, west facing room with large unshaded windows. A 5.0kW unit covers roughly 51 square metres at the well insulated end and about 30 square metres at the other. We confirm the figure on site rather than working from floor area alone.

We install the full Mitsubishi Heavy Industries split range. AvantiPlus WF covers 2.0kW to 6.1kW and is one of the quietest and most efficient options, with a motion sensor that adjusts output when a room is empty and built in Wi-Fi. Avanti WF1 runs 2.0kW to 5.0kW and suits small to medium rooms. Bronte WF1 covers 6.3kW to 10kW and uses Jet Air blade technology to push airflow up to 18 metres, which suits large open plan living. Ciara spans 1.5kW to 7.1kW in a compact Italian designed cabinet that works well in apartments. Wera floor standing units cover 2.5kW to 5.0kW where wall space is unavailable, and Akari bulkhead units sit concealed in the ceiling from 2.5kW to 5.6kW.

Our licensed electricians and refrigeration technicians complete the whole job, including indoor unit positioning for even air distribution, outdoor unit placement for airflow and noise, refrigerant pipe runs, electrical connections and commissioning. We work regularly in apartments and townhouses, so we are used to dealing with body corporate approvals, limited external wall space and restricted outdoor unit locations. The AvantiPlus, Avanti, Bronte and Ciara ranges include built in Wi-Fi as standard, giving you remote control of temperature, mode, fan speed and timers through the Smart M Air app, plus voice control through Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa.

A split system needs less attention than a ducted system, but it still needs a schedule. We recommend cleaning the indoor filters every few months and booking a professional service once a year. Most Mitsubishi Heavy Industries units include a Self Clean function that dries the internal components after use to prevent mould, and an Allergen Clear filter that captures pollen, dust and pet hair, with a NOVAShield PM2.5 filter on selected models for finer particles such as smoke. At each service we clean filters and coils, check the outdoor unit for debris and corrosion, verify refrigerant levels and inspect electrical connections. Regular servicing keeps the unit efficient and the five year parts and labour warranty valid.
